# Intro to Passport Issuers

Quadrata Passport Issuers are authorized centralized companies that collect, verify and attest to information about an entity (individuals or businesses) inside the Quadrata Passport.

### Responsibilities

Passport Issuers have the responsibilities to:

* Collect information (ex: PII) from an entity (individuals or businesses)
* Verify the information
* Attest to the verification inside the Quadrata Passport
* (Optionally) Provide on-going monitoring
* Store the information securely

### Incentives / Business Model

Passport issuers are collecting fees on:

* issuance of the information (100% of the fee)
* each time the information is queried by a smart contract (fee split with the protocol)
