# Attesting attributes

A Passport issuer have the ability to:

1. set a new [attribute](/passport-issuer/additional-information/passport-attributes.md) for a Passport holder
2. override an existing value (ex: AML risk scoring change)

Attesting attributes to the Quadrata Passport is an easy and streamlined process in 3 steps:

1. The DApps calls the [issuer API endpoint](/passport-issuer/integration-developers/attesting-attributes/1.-api-request.md) to submit user information for verification
2. The issuer [standardizes the attribute value](/passport-issuer/integration-developers/attesting-attributes/2.-api-response.md) and sign a verifiable proof of the verification
3. The wallet user [mints their Quadrata Passport](/passport-issuer/integration-developers/attesting-attributes/3.-minting-passport.md) including the attributes to be queried natively on-chain by decentralized applications
